About the Event
One of the biggest events in the South Ribble calendar is back with a fun-filled schedule for 2020.
Bursting with both new and much-loved events for all the family, Leyland Festival celebrates the town’s heritage, ingenuity and community spirit.
Following a procession route from Hough Lane into Worden Park, the parade is renowned as a spectacle of costume design, talent and sheer enthusiasm. This year’s festival theme is ‘Turn Back Time’, which is bound to inspire the showstopper floats, walking groups, dance troupes, and bands from community groups, schools, and businesses. They will be joined by eye-catching cars and vintage vehicles – a fitting tribute to the town’s industrial heritage.
Worden’s treasured green space, which last year welcomed 8,000 visitors from the town and beyond, will receive the parade and host activities, pop-up shops and entertainment for all the family. Even the family pet can join in, thanks to the paw-pular Paws in the Park Dog Show which offers have-a-go dog agility and obedience sessions.
Live music is one of the festival highlights. Worden Park is showcasing the best local talent on the Main Stage and Acoustic Stage – a chance to enjoy a family-friendly festival al fresco.
Filling your Saturday with fantastic family entertainment isn’t expensive. Leyland Festival is a purse-friendly day out for all. Tickets are priced at just £3 when purchased in advance from businesses around the town, or £5 on the day. To make it even easier for families to enjoy a day together, children aged 16 and under are admitted free of charge.
Leyland Festival remains one of the best value family days out in summer and one of the biggest days of the year – a fitting tribute to the town and its community.
