The Quarterhouse is an independent, chef-owned kitchen and bar.
Based in Lancaster’s cultural Canal Quarter, they are blessed with some of the UK’s best local produce, a heritage they both reflect and celebrate in their seasonal menus.
By day, their brunch menu draws on some of the finest suppliers in Lancashire and the Lake District, with artisan coffee roasted here in Lancaster and sourdough bread from their friends at Lovingly Artisan in Kendal.
In the evening, they offer their take on modern British cuisine in the form of small plates. These small, exquisitely crafted dishes each offer a well-balanced combination of flavours, to be shared among friends or combined to enjoy individually.
For newcomers to the format, they will be happy to guide you through the menu. Each dish celebrates one or more elements of the North-West’s culinary heritage, be it samphire foraged by hand on the sands of Morecambe Bay, oak-smoked game chorizo from the Port of Lancaster Smokehouse, or locally reared saltmarsh lamb.
Their selection of wines and spirits offers something a little different, with more familiar names alongside some more unusual and exciting proposals. Reflecting the wealth of innovative brewers in our region, they have embraced the thriving craft beer scene with a rotating selection of beers from some of their friends at the most exciting craft, micro and nano breweries.
